Kesagami Wilderness Lodge

Kesagami Wilderness Lodge is considered by many outdoor writers, TV shows and outdoor enthusiasts to be the finest fly-in fishing lodge in northern Canada.  It has consistently ranked at the top of the list for its fishing and awesome customer service.

Located in the secluded and remote James Bay Lowlands, north of Cochrane, Ontario, Kesagami Lake is a sprawling body of water averaging only 7 feet deep and yet it stretches 20 miles by 10 miles and is serviced exclusively by Kesagami Wilderness Lodge – the only lodge on the lake.  The lake set the Canadian Live Release record back in 1995 for northern pike and has broken that record unofficially several more times.  The largest pike on record is 54” and numerous pike over 50” have been caught.  Outdoor Canada Magazine ranked Kesagami the number one pike lake in the country.  It has also received the awesome rank of being the 8th best fishing hotspot in the country.  The walleye fishing is also incredible with many anglers reporting catching over 100 fish in a day.  One angler and his guide caught over 1200 fish in a 10 day period in the 2011 season and one group of two anglers set a daily record of over 400 fish in one day back in 2010.  These are real stories and great evidence of the truly awesome fishing. A progressive catch and release policy (selective harvest for shore lunch walleye) and an exclusive and short 8 week season keeps the fishing excellent and getting even better.

The accommodations at Kesagami are a combination of rustic log cabins and deluxe motel style lodge rooms complete with private bathrooms.  The main dining room and recreational area is spacious and well appointed.   All fishing trips include a full meal plan of sumptuous steaks, mouth watering BBQ ribs and other North American style table fare. Even though the fishing is often the main draw for those planning trips to Kesagami Lodge, the customer service rivals four and five star hotels.  The high staff to guest ratio ensures a warm friendly environment with a gracious staff that is only too happy to please.
