We just returned home from our 8th annual father/son fishing adventure with Cochrane Air. This year just my son and I enjoyed a peaceful, quiet, relaxing trip to Bounce Lake. The staff got us to the cabin bright and early and had everything setup and ready for us to unpack and get out fishing!! Julie was an invaluable help to me leading up to our trip with all her behind the scenes work and patience!!

 

Our pilots’ (Brian and Thomas) flying expertise provided us with an enjoyable and smooth experience to and from our destination. Ahead of our arrival John ensured everything was ready at our outpost – boat, fridge etc. This was much appreciated as it allowed us to get out on the water quicker and do what we came to do – fish and relax!!

It’s tough to top our previous 7 trips but I believe this year was one of the best!!

Cochrane Air is amazing! Me and my buddies have been going up to Cochrane Air for about 20 years. There wasn’t a trip that didn’t satisfy my need for isolation, great fishing, spectacular wildlife, fantastic
food (hmmmm beer battered walleye…) and just an absolute sense of calm and relaxation. The staff at Cochrane Air are friendly and willing to share their knowledge with you. Its not uncommon for the pilots to circle the lake during the landing and point out the better fishing spots for us. A real advantage! The personal touch always comes through. The cabins are warm, simple, functional but still comfortable. They truly want you to have a memorable experience! Cochrane Air is my only preference when it comes to having that “once in a lifetime” opportunity to reel in that 30” walleye or those monster pike we’ve seen and caught! We’ve tried other outfitters and always returned to Cochrane Air in the end. You know the fishing is good when the only reason you decide to leave an incredibly productive spot is because you want a change of scenery.

As a repeat guest for over 20 years, I can honestly, I have never had a bad trip .

Johns’ knowledge and experience has always been helpful your customer service . Keeps me coming back .

As for the fishing and accommodations I have fished most of the lakes and have my personnel favorites. I have made many memories over the years all positive. Keep up the good work!

Just returned from our 7th annual father/sons/grandsons fishing adventure with Cochrane Air. This year the family adventure included my 87 year old dad, my brother and my son and we decided to try yet another new lake. We were definitely not disappointed. Wow, what a trip! First off I’d like to say that Julie (office manager) was amazing to deal with. While our group was checking in she took the time to chat with us  about various things and specifically to my dad about ensuring he remain diligent with his health routine, which we so appreciated as we can all lose track of time and get caught up with activities associated with an off the grid fishing adventure. She made us all feel at ease. Thank you, Julie!

The cabin at this pristine lake was perfect for our group of 4. The view of the lake from the deck in front of the cabin was incredible especially when the Super Moon appeared on Aug 19th!! Our annual trip is all about the fishing and this lake did not disappoint. We had plenty of delicious Walleye for lunches and our family favourite – fish tacos.

I’d also like to give a shout out to our terrific pilots John, Peter and Thomas. See you in 2025!!

I have fished with Cochrane air services for the past 40 years on and off. I must say I have never had a bad trip or a bad experience. And the Fishing for itself it’s all off the charts!

Several years ago, I tried Cochrane Air for a fly-in fishing adventure that was intended to satisfy my curiosity and scratch another item off my bucket list. Once is enough to get you hooked. You’ll go back multiple times too. There is lots to love. The fishing is extraordinary. As someone who has tried other lodges and fly-in adventures in Ontario, Cochrane Air is the best for finding an abundance of trophy size fish of various species, and certainly enough walleye for a tasty shore lunch. The fishing conservation pledge helps preserve a healthy population for angler after angler to enjoy for years to come. The outpost accommodations are rustic, but more than adequate and part of the charm. The wildlife you may encounter (I have seen several bald eagles, moose and woodland caribou on previous trips) enhances the experience and helps you appreciate how rarely touched the terrain surrounding the lakes is. Flying to the lake is a majestic experience. The staff at Cochrane Air are attentive professionals. And it feels good supporting a First Nation business. I have, and will continue to recommend Cochrane Air to family, friends and fellow anglers.

Our 7th annual family dads and sons, 2024 trip has already been booked! Cory is always a pleasure to deal with, answering any questions or concerns quickly and respectfully. He is extremely helpful when we are in planning mode, providing lake and fishing spot suggestions and finding dates to fit our needs. Every lake we’ve visited has been beautiful and overall, the fishing has been excellent. Our family time and memories made in this rustic, secluded, off-the-grid paradise are priceless. Sharing stories and silly moments around the campfire under a sky that is filled with more stars than you can imagine is something we all look forward to every year.

For those looking to disconnect from their devices, enjoy the beauty of nature, do some fishing and get back to basics, Cochrane Air can truly provide a one of kind, unique experience! Keep up the great work Cochrane Air.

I have been on 9 difference lakes. All produced fantastic walleye and pike fishing. The size and numbers are a product of their conservation policies. The staff works together to ensure you have a trip to remember.

Cabin, boats and motors and any amenities are all good. I only do one fishing trip a year and that’s at Cochrane Air.

PS The trout fishing at Audrey Lake is worth the walk.

I first met John Delean at an Ottawa Sporstman show in 2010 and with our discussion and your pamphlets I decided to book our first trip that summer. My son Don and I have returned each year since and continue to look forward to each successive trip. We have also recommended Cochrane Air to other people who have booked trips and have also invited friends who have accompanied us .

John and the rest of the staff at Cochrane Air continue to treat us well each time we visit, looking after any need that may arise. John is an experienced and excellent pilot and we feel safe in the flights. I now consider John to be a friend.

Needless to say, the lakes are pristine and remote and the fishing great, and for all these reasons I would recommend Cochrane Air to anyone desiring this type of experience.

Had a fantastic week at the Rainey Lake outpost camp. Very peaceful, brilliant star lit nights, fish for lunch each day and became aquatinted with our animal and wildlife friends who showed up each day. Rugged beauty is a good way to describe our location in the wilderness. Thanks …. looking forward to another trip next year. Cheers! John.

We have nothing but great things to say about Cochrane Air Services. They (John our Pilot and Cory) have always treated us royally every time we have gone there. There is always a quick response to any questions we may have. It’s safe to say their customer services is second to none. The best part is the one on one time together on a remote lake in the cozy cabin with no screens; it’s what memories are made of. The next best thing is the fishing. We have never been disappointed yet. We always get enough fish to eat for a few meals. This past summer, we saw LOTS of moose and their calves in plain view. This made for some great pictures. Keep on doing what you’re doing Cochrane Air Services!

We have nothing but amazing things to say about our experience over the years. Massive Pike in these lakes and the Walleye are plentiful. We plan a trip every year!!

I highly recommend it if you are into fishing and the outdoors.

I’ve been going to fishing camps for close to 50 years in both Ontario & Quebec. Cochrane Air far exceeds ALL my expectations… have been to at least 10 lakes and have found the fishing second to none, camps that meet my idea of wilderness fishing and a staff that goes out of their way to make sure we are completely satisfied with our stay. My only regret, I didn’t start going to Cochrane Air earlier. Thanks for putting the ‘fisherman’ first.

Excellent fishing and resort. The boats and motors were perfect No issues. Flying in and out was awesome. Cabin fridges, stove, lighting and bbq all worked. We caught over 140 walleye and pike combined. Largest pike 8 lbs Walleye 4lbs We will return. Thank you for the experience.

We thoroughly enjoy and look forward to our annual Abel fishing trip. Cory is terrific to deal with and we have already started planning our 2021 return adventure. It speaks volumes that
during our drive home we are already talking about our return trip! Great folks to deal with, very organized, beautiful scenery, peaceful, amazing fishing, loads of fun.

My friends and I have been to 11 lakes in the last 10 years and we have never been disappointed, hence, we simply come back every year. All the staff and pilots have been so friendly and helpful. We are already signed up for 2 more trips next year. Simply can’t wait to get back!

I have been to six or seven different lakes through Cochran air , all been fantastic with excellent accommodations and reliable boats, I will always come back. Fishing is unbelievable!

Fly in fishing trip with Cochrane Air is a MUST on any bucket list. A great way to spend quality time together.

Just a quick note to again say thanks for a great time on French Lake. We caught all the walleye we could eat and all the pike “or the fight” that we could catch. I’m sending a few pictures of my daughter Ann …because you can’t get a whole lot of 12 year old girls flying into remote lakes to fish.

I’m writing for a family of nine who went to Nettogami Lake… the fishing was excellent… The cabin and Air Service was great and friendly. We go to Canada every year as a family, 10 years now, this was the best. Thanks again.

Excellent fishing, thank you all, 9 pound, 29 1/2 inch walleye, great trip.

Weather good. A party of ten from Michigan went out and had a great time. Good fishing, great eating. We caught two large pike that were over 40 and 41 inches. We also caught several 30 inch and above northern pike, and the walleye were hitting all week. We all had a great time.

We caught over 1900 fish in 5 days.
